binderies usually have machinery giving high capacity. The high
capacity machines need usually long set up time and when the
machine is reserved for a job, it is not economically sensible
to stop the machine (even if possible) when another customer
needs urgently a smaller series of books.
The
investment to a Fastbind system compared to the investments made
to the main machinery of a specialized book bindery is very
limited, specially compared to the benefits of being able to
serve the customer instantly and still profitably.
Usually
the quality of the bind made by Fastbind is even better than
that of the main production line.
